Favorite Things # 13 - My dogs

I can't believe I got all the way to number 13 without mentioning my dogs as one of my favorites. Besides my husband and human family, these guys really are my number one.

Cleaning off Steve
I was going to post a picture of them all posed and serious, but this is what I love about them. They are total clowns and best friends. They have a ritual every night where they clean each other as if they were cats. It makes me laugh every time I look over and see them totally blissed out with their doggy spa treatment ;)

Just one more photo because it is too funny not to share...

Steeeeve is starting to figure out blankets...
All of our previous dogs loved going under the covers but Steve never really figured it out and didn't like it if I covered him up. He loves to chew on the blankets (note the many frayed ends you see) but didn't really understand they could keep him warm. As you can see here he is taking tentative steps in his blanket exploration.

Well this has been one of my favorite 'favorites'.

Do you have pets? Are you a dog or cat person?

  1. I love dogs but never owned one. Your doggies are so cute cleaning out each other. Wish I have one but my kids are still young and that will be my 3rd child... Hehee.

  2. Aww...they are so cute! I love that they clean each other...doggy spa treatment...lol! Definitely a doggy person myself. I've been taking pics so I can introduce my two German Shepherds on my blog, since they stand for the name of my blog :)

  3. Aww I love them! Bostons are one of my favorite breeds, so much personality in those little bodies. Rusty and Remo groom each other's faces several times a day. I need to get video of it. Remo is 14 pounds, and Rusty is 145 pounds. I swear sometimes it looks like little Remo is getting whiplash!

I have an embarassing number of pets. I really can't say I am a dog or cat person. I am an animal person in general. Though truth be told, my tuxedo kitty is my favorite. Shhh, don't tell the others.

  8. Aw - so cute! We have a big black lab - who refuses to be a lap dog of any sort, even though I try - he likes to be NEAR you, just not TOUCH you.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  9. What cuties!! I am SUCH a dog person but I"m totally allergic. Not that that stopped my parents from getting a dog once I went to college! Sure...that means I can't stay over at their place anymore...but I love the dog so much that it doesn't matter.

  10. Oh, your little doggies are so darn cute. I've been thinking about getting one of my own, but haven't quite reached the commitment point yet. I had my cat for 17 years so I'm in it for the long haul. I might get a shelter dog so I don't have to go through the puppy stage. What to do????

    1. Our oldest came from a shelter in Ohio and he was about 1 when we got him, and has been pretty much an angel. Our youngest came from AZ Boston rescue and was about 1 and he is totally still a puppy. I would say make sure the dog is at least 2 lol :)
