Favorite Things #20 - Corn on the cob

I have lived in Arizona for quite a while and only within the last few years did I discover there are local farms in some of the suburbs that grow sweet corn. The corn is harvested in June so I am really looking forward to getting some fresh and delicious local corn. This is one of my favorite things to enjoy in the summer...

Such a delicious lunch!

What is one of your favorite summer foods?

  1. Oh fresh corn!!! I absolutely love it and it completely hates me (but I still eat it when my daughter makes Elote). One of my favorite summer foods is tomatoes right from the vine. My grandfather and my father used to plant so many vines that they were giving bushels away to anyone who showed up. Now that I am finally in a house of our own, I am giving a try at growing some plants myself. It's only been 15+ years since I have tried :-)

  4. I love, love corn on the cob. You know that cilantro butter for the fish? I want to try it on corn! Old bay and butter is a favorite too. I love eating most things out of the garden but, fresh salsa has to be my favorite. Go to the garden, pick everything I need to make it and voila! Yumminess :)

  5. Corn is definitely one of my favorite summer foods, but mango is at the top of my LOVE list. They have them throughout the year but they are better in the summer. I also really love cucumber salad, despite not really liking cucumbers. But the salad is a different story! lol
