The Person Behind the Plate #1

As I was contemplating what I wanted to do for my next themed posts, I realized I needed to think about what it is that keeps me reading other people's blogs. Clearly, I love getting great recipe ideas, looking at gorgeous food photos, and sharing my thoughts in the comments. But the blogs that I really love to read are the ones where you feel like you know the person who is writing the posts. I realized I don't even think my first name is on my blog anywhere, so hello, my name is Rhonda.

When I started this blog a lot of my followers knew me through my other blogs but now I have a lot of new readers who may not really know anything about me except that I love chicken thighs and my husband is afraid of most food. So I thought I would start a series where I actually share a bit about me, my family, and my life here in Arizona.

I hope you like this series and I look forward to sharing lots more food as well. To start, here I am with Tom doing one of our favorite things, watching baseball.

Baseball!

  2. Aw, great idea, I too like to know the person behind the blog. OK so is Tom a ginger or is it just the lighting in this pic? Or just the beard? My Dad's a blonde (OK, was) but if he grew his beard out it was red!

    1. He is a ginger! He keeps his head shaved but his facial hair gives him away :)

  3. You're right about the name thing, etc! I always like it when the blogger's name is somewhere in the sidebar. We love baseball here too, as in the Cubbies, only wish they'd win the pennant---and then the WS!!! I can dream... Have a good week!

  7. I agree. The best blogs are the ones where you feel like you really get to know the person. Blogging is in reality is up close and personal.

It has been a wonderful experience being part of the blogging community.

  9. I think blogging is fun to write and read because it's so much more personal than, let's say some recipe sites. Thanks for letting us know more about your life, Rhonda!! :)

  11. I've been reading for quite some time, but blogger won't ever let me comment from my phone (no matter how many times I've tried!), which is where I do all my blog reading.

I just had to come here on my laptop to tell you that I *love* this post. While I enjoy your posts about food, it's so nice to read about who is behind all that cooking. Can't wait for more!

I'll be reading even if not commenting :)
