Favorite Things #26 - My Keurig Coffee Maker

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July! We just got together with Tom's parents and had a very casual dinner and hung out, it was perfect.

So my favorite thing today is really two in one, coffee and my Keurig that makes it. In addition to all of the food Tom won't eat, he also doesn't drink hot coffee or tea. He likes iced drinks, but not hot beverages. I only drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day, so making a pot was wasteful and using the french press was messy. I got this Keurig about a year ago and I love it! I love all of the varieties of k-cups available and definitely love the convenience.

Do you have a Keurig? How do you brew your coffee if you drink it?

  1. Sounds like the perfect solution for you! We've gotten hooked on the cold brew coffee, quite amazing with NO acid.

  2. I have two coffee devices - a Toddy Cold Brew system for iced coffee and a Hamilton Beach Scoop for single servings of hot coffee. I love them both.

The Scoop is great because I can use whatever coffee I want - no pods or K-Cups - plus it's a lot less expensive than Keurig.

  3. I obviously don't get out enough. I have a big in the wall Miele coffee machine that no longer makes very good coffee. They're so expensive and will cost a fortune to get repaired, so I wait.

I've never heard of Keurig or the cold brewed idea. mea culpa

  5. I only like my coffee in the ice cream format.
My Skunk enjoys it from a French press, which I am known to tinker with when companies here.

  6. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but my sister loves her Keurig. Being able to make a single cup is a great feature. I used to through out most of the pot so stopped making it.

  7. Funny thing is I used to drink coffee, now I don't. I just lost the "taste" for it one day. Though, I do like the iced coffee's on occasion. I heard many good things about the Keurig, glad it suits you perfectly :)

  8. I don't Keurig but I'm thinking....... :-). I currently use a manual French press to make coffee. It is hard to beat but I am always open to new things. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary

  9. Yay coffee! <3 I cold-brew my coffee and keep it stored cold in the fridge and don't even own a coffee maker any more since I stopped using it. But I actually want a French press to make the filtering part less messy so I thought it was funny you thought it was messy. You should see my crazy paper-towel lined colander straining system! lol But one batch lasts at least a week so at least it's not an every day thing. I never have tried a Keurig but I'm so spoiled to the non-bitter and non-acidic taste of cold brewed that I don't know if I can do hot brewed any more. I wanted to try it at Office Depot once b/c they were letting you pick the one you wanted to sample but they ran out of cups! boohoo P.S. So when are you going to have hubby record you singing "My Favorite Things" ala Julie Andrews for this series? >:)

  10. I use an Eko Cup to save money on Keurig cups and to be able to use any coffee I want. It makes great tea, too.

  12. I don't have one. I make coffee in one of those boring drip coffee machines. One of my friends is OBSESSED with hers, I think it's about time I got one

  13. I have an automatic drip coffee maker that sounds like a small rocket going off each morning. Makes a really hot delicious coffee. Love the Keurig! Perfect for a one person coffee drinker.

  17. We have one of those in our office, but I think we'll need to buy one at home. My husband is hit or miss on drinking coffee. And since my daughter, the coffeeaholic, moved out, I've been wasting a lot of coffee lately!

Although I do usually use the day before coffee for an iced coffee while I blog in the morning, then brew fresh to take with me to work. But I have to keep reminding myself not to make a whole pot!
