The Best Thing I Ever Ate - Using Chopsticks
We don't go out for sushi very often, but there is a place close to our house called Sapporo that has excellent happy hour sushi prices. When we go I love to get my favorite roll, the Las Vegas Roll.
I know this is kind of cheating since it is flash fried, but I can't help it I LOVE it. It is avocado, eel, crab, cream cheese in a deep fried roll. How can it not be delicious?

I made homemade sushi last night but it didn't look as good as that sounds! Yum. I used to not be a fan of sushi, but now I am. I think customizing it to my preferences help me like it more.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favorite sushi roll is also a 'cheater' like yours. The little hole in the wall I go to takes a philadelphia roll, tempura fries it, then adds an incredible sauce on top. Not sure what the sauce is as they will not tell us, but it is one of the best bits of sushi I have had to date. Even my daughter, who does not care of much beyond gyoza & miso soup loves this roll.

It looks good to me, but we don't eat it often either. Luckily, there are many restaurants around us that serve it and I don't have the patience to make it. Have a great rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE sushi. Whenever my boyfriend asks me where I want to go to eat, I say "sushi!!!" (But he hates sushi, so it never usually happens..) I like any kinds, actually, the other day, I had a sushi pizza, which was pretty interesting
ReplyDeleteI love what our sushi place calls an angry roll - it has a slice of jalapeno, raw tuna, a touch of cream cheese, then it has a tempura batter and deep fried - so fricken good!
ReplyDeleteYou can't really get it around here anywhere. I did order some from the Schwan's guy and it was pretty good. I liked the shrimp and avacado I believe :)
ReplyDeleteI love the deep-fried sushi. My favorite is a fried salmon roll with spicy sauce. Now I'm going to have sushi very soon!
ReplyDeleteCoool, deep fried sushi! That's something I haven't tried but it does sound really good. I like any and every kind, including those with just balls of rice and the raw fish on top. The fish is so fresh and sweet, so unlike the "fishy" fish we usually eat.

ReplyDeleteIf I can get salmon, tuna, or yellowtail belly, I will pay any price. I also have monkfish liver at a sushi plate in Portland recently that was UH-MAZING. I usually just go for a rainbow roll if I'm in a hurry, though. Don't get me wrong...I will eat anything fried, including sushi!

ReplyDeleteI love sushi, and so does Brad. This Vegas roll is exactly the kind of thing we would love. Some of our favorites are the ones that have cream cheese, salmon, and jalapeno. I love the quail egg sushi that has rice, tobiko, and a quail egg. I know it turns a lot of people off but I am infatuated with it.
