Favorite Things #43 - Outlander

I haven't been doing much cooking, or much of anything except reading this book! I discovered this series by randomly perusing Instagram last week. (my name is Wiliger on there if you want to add me)

I am loving this book and can't stop reading it! Luckily this is a series so I have a lot more reading ahead of me. The premise is a little strange, a woman travels through time from 1945 back to the 18th century and falls in love with an outlaw. I am usually not too into books with much of a romance plot but there is a lot of adventure and intrigue as well so I am really enjoying it.

Started reading this and saw the author lives here. She lives just a few miles from my house! Anyone read this series? #outlander

Has anyone else read this series? What are you reading right now?

  6. The ones you can't put down are the best! I am reading a book about military dogs right now. It's good but, also a tear-jerker.

  7. When I first read Outlander, there were only 2 or 3 in the series. How lucky my family was, because I became completely absorbed inthem. When a new one would come out my kids (teens) would moan that for 2-3 days they would have to make their own dinner :)These books are LONG and I would read them straight through. These are my all time favorite books. They bring history alive and you feel like the characters are people you know. Enjoy!

  8. I LOVE the Outlander books! My Mom gave me the first 4 to read and I struggled to get past the time travel aspect. She told me to read just until Jamie first appeared and then she'd understand if I wasn't it to it. I couldn't put it down! Every time I hear another one is coming out, I read them all again. My ancestry is Scotish and these reads were what made me proud of it. I adore Jamie Fraser. These are most definitely my favorite books of all time.
