A friend of mine recently got me interested in some mystery books published by Berkley Prime Crime. They actually publish numerous mystery series in all kinds of themes and topics, including cooking themed mysteries. One that I have been reading like crazy is the Benni Harper series by Earlene Fowler.
The pile in the back is what I have already read and the book in front is what I am currently reading. After that one I still have two more to go! I thought for sure I would get bored somewhere in the middle, but they are still just as entertaining as the first one.
What are your favorite types of books to read?
I read all kinds of books. I was reading quite a few military books but, had to quit that. I do have a couple about military dogs though. The last series I read was the Hunger Games. One book I will NOT read...50 shades of grey, not my cup of tea. I like entertainment :)
ReplyDeleteThe books I read depends on my mood (or the weather)! I go for fiction, chick lit, bios but lately I've been loving suspense too :)
ReplyDeleteI used to be such an avid book reader - I just read TWO books in August after not reading any for 10+ years - so crazy!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend!
I am absolutely obsessed with books my friend, god I wish I had more time to read them!

I like mysteries a lot too so I'll have to check this series out. I like nearly anything that has a bit of romance in it, except for full-on romance b/c it's just too smutty & fake. The funny thing is I thrived on romance novels as a teen and now I can't stand them-talk about a 180.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetie!! Thank you for another lovely comment! :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard of these series but unfortunately I have never read them. I'm always on the search for a new good read when I'm not searching for a new recipe to try! :)
Let's see I do enjoy a good chick lit and fantasy of course. I love fantasy novels. Recently I just read 'Safe Haven' by Nicholas Sparks, the Hunger Games, and Fallen...all of which were excellent. Right now I'm in the middle of 'On the Road'...wow. That book is just brilliant. It's difficult though to find time to read especially when I have books I need to get done for school.
As far as mysteries, I've only read Sherlock Holmes and an Agatha Christie novel...but that was so long ago I can't really remember it. Interesting selection that you have featured...I will look into this on my next trip to the book store.
Until then my dear,

I am slowly getting back into reading, no favorites I'll read most anything but not a big fan of science fiction. I do tend to read cookbooks like novels. Just finished The Good Dream by Donna VanLiere which I liked a lot. Starting Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn next. Book Club helps to get me to read at least one book a month these days.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I haven't been reading many books these days. Which is weird, because I used to be obsessed with reading. Actually, I still love it, but I'm usually reading math books now, so it's not as exciting.
ReplyDeleteI love to read but blogging has taken up much of my reading time :) I do tend to read cookbooks like normal people read novels!
ReplyDeleteI'm into biography, but I'm still not sure why :-). Your series sounds interesting.Have a great day. Blessings...Mary
