Favorite Things #32 - Corelle

Several years ago I started collecting Pyrex and decided I would not move into the realm of Corelle and Corningware collecting. Well, that didn't really work out and I started to collect Corelle plates. Corelle is seriously amazing stuff, it is virtually unbreakable and comes in so many patterns that it is easy to find in thrift stores for cheap. Just take a look at the discontinued patterns on their site. Go ahead, I will wait...

Did you find some favorites? I have too many to name so when I found out there is a Corelle outlet about 20 miles from my house I was super excited and made plans to go. Here is my haul from the trip.

Happy Days placemat set
I got this awesome placemat, coaster and hot pad set, I should have got more as they were on clearance and cheap.

Bandhani
This pattern is available at Wal*Mart right now, love the red. I like to buy the salad sized plates as they are cheaper and I never really eat enough to fill a full sized dinner plate.

Berries and Leaves

Muse Grey

Spring Pink

Provincial Blue

Spring Blue

Chutney

The cashier and the lady wrapping the plates were all very curious as to why I was buying all different patterns, I guess I am an oddball. :)

I can't wait to fill these plates with food to share with you guys, and I hope you all have a great weekend.

What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. My parents first dish set was a Corelle pattern with almost army green color tiny flowers all around it - matching sugar bowl and salt and pepper shakers - they had them for years!

I have twin fest this weekend! My twin sister and I are meeting our best friends who are twins for lunch on Sunday - we haven't gotten together since March, so lots to catch up on!

  3. I think that is wonderful that you bought different patterns. I think it would make a delightful, colorful and beautiful table setting. The patterns are very nice.

  4. You must have lots of storage room girlfriend! I like all that you collect but, I just have no room to put anything. I just bought these soup crocks and had to get rid of two pans that I never used anyways. Glad there is an outlet store by you now...have fun! I'm hoping that I'll be in the pool tomorrow, it's supposed to be hot and it looks like it will be my last time...boo hoo! ;)

  5. I love Corelle! But when it does break, it shatters into a jillion tiny pieces! I really want to replace my current dishware with all Corelle but maybe I hsould just start buying one dish at a time (I like that yours are all different, that's cool) since I never seem to have enough money to get a whole new set of dishes.

  8. Haha I never buy the same plate twice so I feel like the people at TJ Maxx and Anthropologie are always looking at me like I'm crazy!

  9. They look great and I esp. like those red ones! I too have run out of storage room now and can't add to any collections. Have a great weekend and I'm looking forward to seeing what you load the plates with!
