While I wish I could say I sit at home all day reading and cooking, I do have a job that I have been at for almost 13 years. I work in tech but I actually went to school for English education. My first loves were reading and writing. I still love reading and do it pretty continuously but don't write a lot outside of this blog. This past week I read Under the Dome by Stephen King and if you have not read it I highly recommend it.
Here is a look at my 'to read' shelf (well, one of them) in my closet. I have taken out several of those books since the picture was taken.
I haven't made the jump to e-books yet, but I am sure I inevitably will have to.
What is the best book you have read lately?
Even though I love to read I haven't read any books of late. My daughter loves to read Stephen King.
ReplyDeleteOh Stephen King I love you so :D
ReplyDeleteCheers

I need to organise my shelves - all my 'to red' books are just mixed in with all the ones I've read, your way is much better! :) The most recent book I've read was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, I really enjoyed it :)
ReplyDeleteI don't read enough as I should or want to! The last book I read and loved was a book called Room.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love books. Just looking at them, seeing them on shelves. Everything about them. And so I tried hard to resist the ebook life. I dream of having a library in my home some day and ebooks seemed so ridiculous to me.
ReplyDeleteThen...I succumbed. Why? I don't even remember now. What I know is that I have read so many more books since being able to drop my kindle into my purse than I ever did when I had to carry actual books. On our vacation to Costa Rica I read 7 books! I never could have fit 7 actual books in my bags. I hated the idea at first, but after giving in I love it.
But I do still love seeing my shelves of books in the home. I just get sad knowing no new ones will be joining them.
I'm currently reading Khaled Hossein's newest book: And the Moutains Echoed. It is extraordinary. I love it.
ReplyDeleteKind of shocked I haven't read that book yet! Gotta get it. I'm a Stephen King fan fo sho. I just finished the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" series and dang, it was just SO good that going back to normal not-so-good reads is terribly disappointing. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI bought a kindle and I love it. So nice to travel with that instead of heavy books. Some books that I love though, I will buy them. Their are websites for the kindle too that offer many free books, I rarely pay for them.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom probably reads 3-4 books a week, even when she worked! She didn't think she'd like a Kindle, but she's hooked. She can even rent book from her library to it for free!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a book cover to cover in . . .five years? So sad!
I have been so busy that I haven't made time to read...or when I try to read, I pass out in 5 minutes. My husband thinks why I even bother trying to read. =P You have a good collection. :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't made the jump either. It is so much more personal to make a book your own. It is yours. You fold a page, or make a note, or leave a book mark that has meaning to it.
ReplyDeleteI love making the book my own. Blessings dearest. Catherine xo
I don't care for e-readers... not the same as paper... I am just about to finish my 4th Stephen King this year, Needful Things... so good!
