Buffalo Chicken Tenders from Everyday Food

I love buffalo wings but do not like having to drag out the deep fryer and its really not that good for you. I found this variation on buffalo wings in my Everyday Food magazine.

It said to make your own blue cheese dip, but I just used some lite ranch dressing. Time to gather the ingredients.

The sauce is 2 ingredients. Butter and Frank's Red Hot.

You can buy pre-made wing sauce also if you don't want to mix up your own. You could also do this with BBQ sauce if you are not a fan of buffalo style sauce.

You need some buttermilk. (don't worry I will be posting some other buttermilk recipes so you have something to do with the leftovers)

Peanut oil

Flour seasoned with salt and pepper

pour the buttermilk in a dish

whisk the melted butter and Frank's to create a sauce

send your chicken tenders in for a swim in the buttermilk and then dredge them in the flour. I didn't get a pic because my hands were a mess and I just could not wait to eat this.

Get the chicken in the pan with the peanut oil and get it frying.

drop the fried chicken tenders into the bowl and give them a good toss to get them coated with the yummy sauce.

Serve with some ranch or blue cheese.

I had some broccoli slaw on the side. This is just some pre-cut slaw I got at the store with some golden raisins dressed in cider vinegar, oil, honey and a bit of mayo.

DELICIOUS!

Thanks again to everyone who is leaving a comment, it really means a lot to me. I have been keeping an eye on my stats and I am so pleased with all the views my blog gets. A lot comes from google searches so I really hope I am helping people find some inspiration! Thanks to you all for spending some time reading my blog.

  3. This looks great! I also hate doing chicken wings because of the frying. I'm going to have to try this one in 2 bathes. One with the hot sauce for my husband and one with the bbq for me and the dogs! :)

  8. Fabulouso! It was the hit of our last superbowl party. Even tastes very good the next day and not as spicey, for those who don't like it as spicey as Frank's original.
