I like that show on the Food Network where chefs talk about the best thing they ever ate. I thought I would post something like that at random just because I love talking about food and I love reading your comments about it.
So this week I am concentrating on soup...the best soup I ever ate was...
Paprika Soup at the Koepel Cafe in Amsterdam. Tom and I went here for our honeymoon and it was such a wonderful trip. This was definitely my food highlight. Something so simple using my favorite ingredient, Paprika!
What is the best soup you ever ate?
Split pea soup from Andersens! HANDS DOWN amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe best soup I ever ate is Chimney soup, in a chinese restaurant in Mumbai called "Lings pavillion". Chimney soup is this big bowl of steaming broth which has noodles, seafood, wontons, chicken. It is unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard anyone say they love paprika, let alone say it's their fave ingredient! lol. My gramps gave me an industrial sized bottle b/c it's high in vitamin c and he wanted me to use it on everything. I think I only use it on eggs, turkey before roasting, and goulash! How do you use it?
ReplyDeleteI was surprised when I went to Europe that they love Paprika as much as I do. They actually have paprika soup in the grocery store and they make paprika potato chips! I love it on or in anything but my favorite is on roast chicken, tuna salad, broiled fish, and in mayonaise. I like the smoky kinds in my chili and sauces.
DeletePaprika soup? I'm dying here. I would love to know how it tastes and what goes in it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is a lemon soup I first had in Salzburg.
It was a creamy sauce, but I have no idea what was in it. I am going back in the fall maybe I can wrestle some details out of them :)
DeleteI've never had paprika soup... it sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of that soup but it sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTwo best soups: She crab soup I had at the LaPlaya Hotel in Naples, Floria - the night I got married to my husband.
The second best? At a restaurant I worked at that had the best lobster bisque with lump lobster on top and a drop of sherry poured over the top. YUMS!!
I'd be curious to know how that soup is made too. Love the best thing I ever ate shows. The food always looks fantastic. I made a copy-cat recipe from a restaurant that was in California and they made a soup called Killer Shrimp. Wow, it is amazing and so, so good! That would be my fav.
ReplyDeleteWe are going back in the fall so I am hoping to persuade them to give me some clues. ;)
DeleteI love that show! Hmmm best soup I've ever had? Prob butternut squash soup from home!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to narrow it down to one soup. I think for now I will go with good old fashioned chicken soup.
ReplyDeletePaprika soup sounds interesting. This is a soup that I have never heard of. blessings my dear, Catherine xo
What an interesting soup you had in Amsterdam! I make a coconut chicken curry soup that is loaded with flavor and great veggies, I think I could eat that one every day. You might need to figure out how to re-create that paprika soup and share it with us! :)
ReplyDeleteI, amazingly, share the same answer as Bianca! My butternut squash soup is my fave. Second- Mom's recipe for her chicken noodle with the home-made noodles. Third- B-Spot's Tomato Blue Cheese
ReplyDeleteThe best soup I've ever eaten is this tomato curry soup that I made earlier this year. So good.
