The Best Thing I Ever Made - Sandwiches

I am not a huge sandwich person, but when I do have one I like them to be warm so it is no surprise my best sandwich I ever made is actually a panini! The star ingredient in the sandwich is braised leeks, which I made in this recipe paired with pasta. If you have never made braised leeks before, I highly recommend you at least try that recipe.

If you want to take it to the next cheesy and tasty level, go ahead and try the sandwich recipe

Braised leek and Swiss cheese panini

It is funny to me looking back on my blog because I made that recipe in January 2008 and I think my food photography and my blogging have come a long way.

Do you prefer a hot or a cold sandwich or sub?

  1. I love leeks! This looks delicious. I bet it would be good with a spicy cheese too - like pepper jack.

  2. I bought a panini machine at a garage sale for $10, and it retailed for $50 - I love it! I just made a turkey cuban panini the other day - the pickles made it!

  3. I DEFINITELY like my sandwiches hot. My panini maker is one of the best things I have ever bought. I swear, you can put anything you want between two pieces of bread and it tastes fantastic

  8. Oooh, I refuse to eat cold sandwiches, but a warm one is quite possibly the best thing! Especially with leeks :)

  9. Mmmmm, mmm!!! Love all that cheese! I'm ashamed to say I have a panini maker that sits idle most of the time, but this recipe will be perfect for using it.
