I dine alone...

Today I made chicken with Moroccan flavors, from Cuisine at Home magazine.

Here is the magazine, I really recommend it! It has great tips and solid recipes.

Your ingredient list!

And the steps to make it.

Here are your spices, left to right: salt, cayenne, coriander, paprika, cumin, and cinnamon.

Rub this on the outside of the chicken. Wash hands to let the dogs out.

Throw the chicken in a pan with some Olive Oil on medium.

Dice your onions and garlic. The recipe said 1 tablespoon, mine was a heaping tbs because I LOVE GARLIC! Let the dogs in.

Flip the chicken and note for a second it doesn't look dark enough.

Take it out because the recipe said 10 minutes, dangit!* Let the dogs out.

Toss in the onions.

Grab some cheap ass wine and some tomato paste.

Deglaze. Let the dogs in.

Put the new wine stopper that Butler and Amy bought you into your 3 buck chuck.

oooh and aaaah at how pretty it is.

Throw everything else in the pot. Note for next time, take the sticker off the lemon first.

Put the lid on and clean up your kitchen. Give up and just leave the back door open for the dogs.

Serve it up with some iced tea.

Enjoy!

I really liked this. I was hesitant with the cinnamon and lemon but the flavors went together sooo well. I think maybe next time I would use a little bit less lemon, but other than that it is light and delicious. Eating the chicken right on the bone like that is a little time consuming but its good for me to be forced to slow down, I tend to eat fast. I will make this again!

*next time saute chicken longer!!

  8. That looks wonderful and I love those spices. I am going to bookmark this site and come back often. Enjoy your cooking. Who cares if your S/O doesn't want to eat it. I am sure you wouldn't be with him if he did not have other qualities that you love. Enjoy him also.

  10. That looks awesome! I'll definitely try it this week - I'll actually be home to cook! : )

I love how Morroccan dishes combine savory and sweet flavors - on paper it never seems like it'll work but it's always delicious.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  12. Hey Rhonda! I think it would be a pretty close race as to whose S.O. is a more PITA about food!! That chicken looks amazing. I love that kind of stuff.

I used to cook a lot for just me (& Scott would eat cereal) but got out of it over the last year. You can be my inspiration!

Hope you had a great Xmas.

  16. That looks delicious! Do you think it would be just as good with chicken breasts instead of the thighs? I just can't do bones. I'm glad you started this blog - Leo and I have resolved to eat out only once a week (to save money and cut back on the crap) and I am really bad at coming up with new recipes. Thanks for sharing!
